Come with us! Choratour will participate in Sing Mit Chorfestival in 2020 in Vienna’s most prestigious Saint
Stephen’s Cathedral under the direction of Gerald Wirth, artistic director and president of the Vienna Boys’
Choir. Choratour will also perform at Saint Nicholas Church in Prague, under the direction of Choratour’s
choral conductor Lee Carter. This is sure to be a memorable experience for singers and guests that includes
cultural visits, traditional dinners, guided tours, four (4) star hotel accommodations and much more.

Join us ! Choratour will participate in « Europa Cantat International Choral Festival » in July 2021. Dream a new dream ! Discover Italy, and Slovenia! Visit a winery, explore caves, a roman amphitheater, castles and museums. Sing in ancient churches and cathedrals and with Europa Cantat International Choral Festival. Singers and non singers are welcome.

Every three years since 1961, the European Choral Association organises a unique festival in a different country: the EUROPA CANTAT festival. The event gathers over 4000 participants coming from all over Europe and the world to share their passion for singing and discover one another’s cultures by attending ateliers and workshops, perform in final concerts, listen to invited choirs, and have fun together. In 2021, the festival will take place in Ljubljana.

Nicole Bélecque

Nicole Bélecque

Founder and accompanist

Nicole is passionate about music and music productions since her childhood. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Music from the University of Western Ontario where she studied piano with Sonja Peterson Behrens and harpsichord Hugh McLean.

After graduation, Nicole taught privately at the Charlottetown Music Studio, (Prince Edward Island) in public schools (elementary and secondary) and was a founding member of the Prince Edward Island Registered Music Teachers Association. She performed with the Charlottetown Chamber Music ensemble and was appointed choir director and organist at St Andrew’s United Church in Vernon, P.E.I.

Nicole is presently pianist for Castenchel choir, is a music teacher at École des Rapides-Deschênes (Aylmer) accompanies soloists as well as the Nepean High School Choirs (Ottawa) and also accompanies, on occasion, the choir at Église Notre-Dame de Guadeloupe (Hull).

In order to share her passion for travelling and singing with friends and colleagues, Nicole founded Choratour, an organization that brings together singers to perform and discover  the world’s top music venues.

Lee Carter

Lee Carter

Director

Lee Carter is an educator, musician and respected choral director whose passion for music and teaching others to love music are found in all facets of his career. Newly appointed music director for Nepean Choir and music director of Castenchel Choir based in Chelsea, QC since September 2014, Lee is also the artistic director for the European Union Christmas Concert held annually at Notre-Dame Basilica in Ottawa.

He has conducted workshops for CAMMAC Ottawa-Gatineau and various choirs in the National Capital Region.

While a regular clinician and guest conductor in the community, Lee continues as a full-time teacher at Nepean High School, conducting the choirs and teaching instrumental music. In 2012, he was awarded the “Arts Recognition Award for Secondary Music” by the Ottawa- Carleton District School Board Advisory Committee on the Arts for his creative directorship of the choral program. His passion for collaborative music-making sees him working with great musicians locally, nationally and internationally.

Lee holds a Bachelor’s Degrees of Music and Education from the University of Ottawa where he studied the tuba with Nick Atkinson and voice with Sandra Graham.
